About Payments in Full

Andy is a 40-year veteran of the Payments industry, most of that as a consultant. His most recent consulting roles included 5 years as a partner (2019-2024) in the Payments practice at McKinsey, where he led the Merchant Acquiring service line and almost 10 years as a Partner at Oliver Wyman Financial Services (2005-2014) where his focus was payments. Before OW he spent almost 15 years at First Manhattan Consulting Group, a financial services specialist firm.

In between OW & McKinsey, he was the Head of Integrated Payments Strategy at JPMorganChase (2014-2019) where he covered wholesale and retail payments strategy. He was the JPM lead for the formation of Zelle and was involved in the foundational years of Real Time Payments. He did early work on crypto & blockchain as they related to Payments.

After McKinsey, Andy became a part-time MD, Corporate Strategy for Fifth Third Bank, focusing on their Commercial Payments business, including Newline their embedded payments unit.

Beyond his commitments at Fifth Third and private consulting engagements, Andy writes Payments in Full, a Substack devoted to payments strategy. He publishes every Sunday night and 1-2 times during the week. The mid-week posts are for paid subscribers only, but the Sunday posts are free to all.

Andy is a frequent panelist at Payments Conferences where he speaks on Stablecoins, Open Banking, Agentic Commerce and other topics-of-interest to the payments community. He also appears as a guest on podcasts with payments publications that are available on our APPEARANCES/MEDIA page.
